24% Increase in Annual Giving + Strong Capital Campaign

Initially, Trinity Episcopal Church’s leaders wanted to conduct a capital campaign for a wide variety of projects.  Jeff Newlin advised them to pull the staff expansion project out of the capital campaign into their annual operating budget campaign, and make the annual operating budget their priority.  That way the increased staff funding that they needed wouldn’t expire after 3 years, but would continue as a base for increased annual giving into the future. A VISIONfest was held the Sunday before Commitment Sunday to make the campaign’s vision for the future come alive.  Results:  Annual giving increased by 24%.  Three-year capital campaign raised 1.3 times the church’s previous year’s giving, eliminating the church’s $500K debt and funding various capital projects.  (Fall 2015)
